Saturday night's performance at the Wheeler by Dave Mason's Traffic Jam filled the house. Judging from the number of seats filled and the noise from the audience, it was a great success. Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famer Mason played selections from his CD released last year, "Future's Past," as well as timeless favorites from his years with Traffic, interspersed with commentary about "the old days."
If you missed that one, you can make up for it by seeing jazz pianist Justin Kauflin who, at 28 years old, has just made Top Ten on Billboard's Traditional Jazz list with his new album, "Dedication." On "Dedication," Kauflin shows his stuff as a composer and performer with songs he wrote to honor those individuals who have helped him launch his career. Justin is scheduled for 8 pm this Friday, March 27, at the Wheeler Opera House.
